UNREAL RTX REMIX (path traced mod + full game)

Well I've managed to get it working but it's locking up/ crashing after about 30 secs to a minute, if I enable path tracing, so I can't really test it.

Running a pretty beast PC with a 5090, so I'm not lacking for RTX path tracing powaaahh. Anyone else have any better success?

UPDATE: Looks like it might be my Afterburner undervolt. Ran at stock GPU settings and it works. Bloody hell, not a single game has any issues with my undervolts (including other path traced stuff) so this could be the new king of stability tests for GPU undervolting

UPDATE 2: Nah. Still crashing after about a minute or so at stock GPU settings. Tested my undervolt on Quake II RTX (my go to ultimate torture test for undervolt, path tracing, and GPU stability) and it's fine. Ah well, I guess this mod is early days and RTX Remix needs a lot more work and testing.

Here is the prologue of Unreal Gold with the RTX Remix Path Tracing Mod. There are currently some stability issues with the mod (when recording or when using an overlay).

Thanks. Unreal was the very first game that made my jaw drop as a kid seeing the Nali Castle Flyby intro.

I'm installed this and had a quick go. Got to the second level, no crashes or anything. It does look good but need to be darker in my opinion.
By todays standard of graphics though, its not ground breaking like Unreal was when it released in 1999.

At least they put some effort into updating it (I know it is more a mod than a proper remaster), unlike far too many projects these days where the remaster is just slapping high resolution textures over the same tired old geometry and some fancy lighting.

EDIT: I haven't checked the details but I assume this is the one where they reimagined some of the level design with higher detail.

For anyone not familiar this is specifically an RTX Remix project. It's not an official remaster or remake.

RTX Remix: "Create stunning NVIDIA RTX™ remasters of classic games. RTX Remix is an open-sourced platform that allows modders to easily capture game assets, automatically enhance materials with generative AI tools, and create stunning RTX remasters that feature full ray tracing and neural rendering technologies including DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation"

There are quite a few RTX Remix demos floating around where people have done the odd level from various games as a test, but Unreal is one of the first full game transformations. I think the concept is superb - it's modding that keeps PC gaming alive and still interesting for me these days to be honest.

Regarding the locking up/ crash I was getting. Need to test more but I just played 5 mins of the actual game with no issues, but the looping castle flyby at the start will crash every time after about 30 seconds. Weird.

Unreal was the game that got me properly started on online FPS games and I have great memories of it.
Will be sure to check this out.
