Pretty sure it does.

"With Type 2 diabetes, though we know sugar doesn’t directly causes Type 2 diabetes, you are more likely to get it if you are overweight. You gain weight when you take in more calories than your body needs, and sugary foods and drinks contain a lot of calories."

and another

Does eating too much sugar cause diabetes?
No. Type 1 diabetes happens when cells in the pancreas that make insulin are destroyed. This happens because something goes wrong with the body's immune system. It has nothing to do with how much sugar a person eats.

Sugar doesn't cause diabetes. But there is one way that sugar can influence whether a person gets type 2 diabetes. Consuming too much sugar (or sugary foods and drinks) can make people put on weight. Gaining too much weight leads to type 2 diabetes in some people. Of course, eating too much sugar isn't the only cause of weight gain. Weight gain from eating too much of any food can make a person's chance of getting diabetes greater.

Nope, one of my boss is slim yet last year he was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I asked him how because he is not over weight. He said it doesn't matter because you can be skinny and still have a bad diet, his weakness was sweets and sugary drinks consumed over years. Now he has to cut down.

This isn't what I quoted though, read his definition of a fantastic body, exercising 24/7 gym go-er with type 2 diabetes.

Does your boss fit into this category? I feel this is derailing this thread, simply put, carbohydrates do not cause diabetes, plenty of peer reviewed work backs this up. I'm not getting into the things that do.

I remember a TV interview comparing "Mr Universe" style body-builders with "Strongmen" saying that when Arnie/Ferrigno etc were competing they were actually quite weak compared to the Strongmen of the time (still strong compared to me obviously) as they were building muscles for "show" but not "use" which leaves muscles leaner but more densely packed i.e. just look at the physique "The Mountain" who is the current worlds strongest man but doesn't look hugely muscled compared to a body-builder.

Body builders on show day are not gonna be very strong compared to most as theyre severely dehydrated amongst other things.

You will always have those who want to look tanned and toned, however this is not the norm. Variety is the spice of life and all that.

For those that do look massively toned, I thought what you eat and drink has a large part of it. That, along with being a lazy XXXX means I will never have a six pack.:)

Well the medical profession disagrees with you

so you need to be either born like that or you are unwell

This is what I'm talking about on the left. I don't know what the thing on the right is.

Isn't that what the OP is talking about? A gap at the top of the thighs? If you're talking about the thighs never touching at all when standing with your legs as together as you can get them, then that is something else, and I would agree you'd need to be born like that.

Yeah that was mentioned as being a main part of being "when they look the best they're actually at their weakest" or something like that. I can't remember which TV/Documentary it was but I found it really interesting.

Ive seen love island. i think its quite entertaining in a laugh at those idiots kind of way. However clearly they are having more fun than i am, fair play to them.

Re the doctor. He just doesnt fit in with the rest of them. Highly educated, very serious career, he is not used to socialising with those type of people. they are beneath him its as simple as that. Im a bit like him, sometimes i think id be a lot happier and have a lot more fun if i was less intelligent.

This post makes me think of this sketch.
