Hiya guys, I've just installed my new components being a new Z77 board, I5 3570K, A50 cooler (which I had to make the holes bigger in the motherboard so it'd fit) and a 670 however since I've installed all of the components I press the ON button the front of my case and it takes 2 seconds to respond then it fires up.

Once it fires up sometimes all the fans turn on the LEDS become bright blue, then it powers off, then it trys it again, after 3 attempts it eventually turns itself on.

Hopefully there's nothing wrong with your motherboard.

If there is I don't fancy your chances of getting it replaced.

Have you tried clearing the CMOS so that everything is at default settings?

If there is something wrong with my motherboard my father will replace it because he did it xD, Erm clearing the CMOS what will that do?

How much material did you remove to make these holes bigger so the cooler would fit?

Clearing CMOS sometimes helps when the motherboard stalls boot because of a hardware mismatch. It's worked for me in the past.

When you say the A50 didnt fit the Z77, did you actually move the bars on the rear plate? theres a little locking mechanism on the A50 bracket that needs moved on each foot of the plate so they move in, each leg has a postion marked with which socket each position is for, 1155, 2011 1156 etc etc. I think it comes set at the widest which is 2011, Mine never fit and didnt undertsnad why til i looked closer. You have to move each leg after unlocking the very tiny bar that holds it.

Once i set all four legs in the Socket 1155 postion, fit no problem

EDIT

see the picture. I have arrowed the legs, they move in towards the middle, there are 3 settings for the legs, the middle hole is the 1155/1156 postion

I had the cut wider holes In the MOBO and holes in the back side of the case it wouldn't have gone through otherwise

I think you may have made a mistake mate. It doesnt need cut out. Z77 mobo sockets are compatible with this cooler. I have a Z77 with this cooler fitted, built it myself last friday. All you have to do is move the legs in like I have said. I hope the holes you made have not damaged the board. If its faulty it will void your warrenty i think.

The bracket you're talking about comes from underneath through the motherboard and the case was in my way

So your telling me, you just drilled through the side panel of your case? didnt take it off? or think about taking the mobo out to fit it? What case do you have?

Coolermaster elite 334 I think there's not a panel you can remove

I just did a quick search. both side panels come off this case, and it even has a cut out part on the rear behind were the mobo would sit. So you didnt have to cut any holes or anything. Side panel off, install plate quickly, side panel back on, is all it would have took.

Sorry mate.

Back on topic. Try clearing cmos as surveyor suggested. Load default bios and see if that does the trick.

Certainly a troll, if not im sigging this thread as stupidity thread :D ?

I did think that, not sure though. Benefit of the doubt, for now.
