Unsure about sendinga 360 back to MS

Yuo can get MS to send UPS though? Well I did, I had to ask, but they arranged for UPS to come collect, they come the next day too to collect. All they do is stick a sticker on your box at the door and take it away. I certainly didn;t get a HDMI replacement... prob cos there was no such thing as a HDMI 360 then :)

UPS came for mine within 20 minutes for me lol.

It was made on the 15/01/06 they aren't going to refurb a 2 year old console now. My console is completely ****** the power button doesn't work, the DVD won't even open anymore and now it got RROD. It is not worth refurbing a 2 year old console. By new I meanta Falcon HDMI one that isn't going to break.

perhaps you should treat it a bit better

I assume you mean why would it matter if you didn't get the original box back? It would matter if you wanted to sell the 360 at a later time.

Lack of original packaging knocks the price off a lot of things.

I'm not going to sell my 360 as I don't see anyone paying enough for it, it's worth more to me for the few games I may play on it again. I still have the box but most people I would personally sell it to wouldn't care, but I understand on the bay it can make a difference.

I've just had to replace my 360. All I did was package it up in it's original 360 packaging (which they didn't send back unfortunately), stuck all the needed stuff on the front in a plastic wallet and called UPS to come and collect it. I left the rest to MS. It's so easy to return a faulty 360, everything is literally spelt out to you, all you have to do is read. You're 16, it's not hard to do this type of stuff. I was doing all sorts of returns at your age and younger.

Sorry, I was confused to as what the procedure was seeing as they just sent me an email telling me I have three options on how to send it back to them. What were you returning and other such things at my age because I really don't see how and why I would need to know how to do these things right now at this age. When you do the online return nothing is said to you about the actual return until after you request it, I wanted to know what I was doing beforehand. Even now I look and they say they can send me a box but others on here say they will no longer send you a box. I spoken to MS on the phone support when I had to but I really don't see why I should be phoning up UPS asking for a pick up, especially when my dad deals with UPS everyday, so I think it would make more sense for him to get it picked up.

perhaps you should treat it a bit better

Are you joking because either way it isn't funny. I don't see why people worry about their consoles so much, it worked fine for 2 years when my mate had to have about 3 replacements, he ended up buying a new one, my other mate had to have his replaced and it was about a year younger than mine. If you treat it like absolute **** then of course it is going to break. I wasn't here moaning about how it had broken because I don't really care, only game I played was GTA because it won't be out on PC for a while.

You have to phone UPS as you have a package that requires a pickup

MS have a contract in place for this but you need to tell UPS where to start ;)

Just do things the normal way, that's what always works best. Don't try and do it 'efficiently' by giving it to your Dad to give to UPS. Microsoft will have given you instructions on how to complete the RMA process.
