Unsure if motherboard is suitable for Crossfire

I am a bit a confused with the the whole pcie lanes and was hoping someone can clarify if my asus p8z77-v lx will be suitable for a 7950 crossfire setup.

It states the pci-e slots at 16x however then states in brackets (x4). Can someone confirm if this motherboard will be suitable or not?

It will do it, but its not ideal as one card in the top slot gets 16X bandwidth and the other will get just 4X.

Try the board as it is?

See if your performance numbers are any good and the performance satisfies your need.

I'd be reluctant myself to upgrade a board to another when the platform's dead now.

The 2nd PCI-E slot is only 2.0, so I guess it'll only run at 8x/2x.

Do you have a suitable PSU?

Also what CPU are you using?

I'm using the XFX Pro850w along with i5-3570k @4.3ghz
