Ok, So I am getting tired quite quickly. I put it down to always drinking 'energy' drinks, so I have near enough cut them out of my intake. 1 per week, if that now.

I also started going bed earlier, and waking up later, or the same time as usual, but this has ill effect. I am still falling sleep mid-late afternoon, much like the Spaniards do...

Should I goto the the doctors and mention this, or just keep at it?

First thing your doc will say is to get back in shape, ensure you eat a decent diet, and if you really hassle them, they might test your thyroid function.

As a general piece of health advice, lose the extra weight, but if you think there may be a medical issue, then as is the policy on these boards I'd suggest you seek advice from a medical professional.

The fact that you're asking probably means you're not, if I'm honest.

Do you do lots of walking, any cycling, play sports, go to the gym?

I walk 4 miles a day, back and to to work, but then I'm hauling stuff at work, and walking round the shop. Other than that, not really.

I will also mention to the doctor when I go, wednesday, to find out why I am getting ocular migraines...

I had the same thing, I did the following:

- Drink only water
- Have main meal at lunch instead of dinner
- Completely cut sweets / junk / takeaway

I don't think this is medical, I think it's bad habit.

Quite overweight (18st and about 5'8"), but not really had this problem before. And how do you define active?

Pretty heavy, I know I wasn't feeling all that when I was 18st and I'm 6'1" and while this is an assumption I assume your diet isn't great either. It isn't just energy drinks that can give you a "crash" in energy but plenty of fast foods out there and combined with an inactive lifestyle can all add up.

Cut downs on fatty snacks . Drink lots of water about 5 pints upwards a day and don't eat large unhealthy meals . Have small snack / meals through the day . Should help quite a bit .

Got to your GP and have your Blood Sugar tested, also eat a little healthier, and smaller portions more often.

It sounds (and this is not medical advice) as if you are peaking your blood sugar by eating big meals packed with carbs and then waiting long periods of time between meals so your blood sugar is peaking and troughing, hence the lack of energy and tiredness during the day.

Go to your GP, they will be able to advice you and do a simple test for diabetes or glucose intolerance.:)
