Unsure which mid-tier graphics card to go for with these specs...

Screw it, may just go with that 1050 above as the price is great too :p. Just hope it's fine with the mobo and case.

Order placed! Thanks all :).
Cool, it will be interesting to find out how this turns out and if there is a big improvement even with older games.

Hey all, thanks for the help. Finally installed the card (long story but I had to wait on a DVI-D to VGA adapter due to the particular two PC setup with a VGA only KVM. Everything should be swapped to DVI once the older PC is upgraded, already placed the order on OC and waiting for it to be built).

Everything went okay apart from one thing...which was that I was unable to screw the graphics card into that particular case :( with the card firmly inserted into the motherboard, the holes for the screws were just not wide enough for the whole screw to go in. I was only able to get one screw in half way and at an angle (which was very annoying). When looking at the back of the PC the card is tilted upwards very slightly. So apart from that all went well (but that was very annoying, even when pushing the card slightly against where the holes were, there was just not enough gap). Hopefully it should be fine though as it clicked and inserted in firmly.

Even when loading up the game he is currently playing, we were able to turn this one graphics setting to On (forgot what it was called and didn't recognise the acronym). Previously with this set to On, the game lost its smoothness completely. So set that to On and shadows to high, and the game is way smoother than it was before. So even a nice upgrade with a game like that. The card is practically silent too. The size was just right for the case as well.

Thanks again all, glad I went with the 1050 in the end!
