sold a phone for over £300
sent the invoice
buyer wants to pay with a different paypal email address
should i be worried about this?
should i only accept payment from the paypal account linked to the ebay account?

Some people do use different email addresses for different purposes. Yes only send to approved and verified Paypal address. Use a fully tracked delivery system and don't send to countries known to run dodgy ebay accounts.

Andi.

escambay and expensive phones often = scam buyer.

See you in a week when paypoo take the money back.
Hope you can stand the loss.

I hope I am wrong.
Do as above have said just send it to the paypal address, and take the IMEI code, so if it goes west, you can get it blocked for good.

I often bid/buy stuff on ebay only to then get my gf to pay using her paypal, this is purely because paypal buggered up my account and the only way to sort it is to get a new card issued... Too much hassle, told them where to stuff it.

Yes, worry.
Yes only accept payment from the paypal account linked to the ebay account.
If in doubt give a refund and do second chance offer, its not worth the risk of losing £300!

Just be careful with what you do, transfer it in to your bank account as soon as possible, any sort of claim will be taken out of your paypal account, and if you've got no money in it, it'll go to negative balance. I've had this happen to me before, had paypal harass me with all sorts of threats, I told them to get lost and they never bothered me again, this was about 2 years ago now.

There's nothing they can actually do in that situation regardless of the threats they make, it's just scare tactics to get those who are easily scared by such companies to pay up.

If you live together, I can't see the problem from the seller's perspective, because it's going to the registered address of the eBay account anyway. :)

I never use Paypal for anything over £50 on ebay (Selling) I sold a laptop on there for £350 and all was ok the guy emailed me to say it was ok but then decided it was damaged on arrival. I refused to refund as he sent me an email stating all was ok with the laptop and he was happy. He started a dispute with paypal and after submitting the email as evidense to paypal they refunded him the money and told me it was my fault and tough. I have only just had my money refunded from paypal as the laptop was never returned, This is just about 6 months after the sale date...

Be very carefull with paypal as no matter what they will support the buyer and screw over the seller....

I'd rather not have the possibility of debt collectors knocking on my door regardless.
