My computer is doing something really odd?

randomly my internet will cut out and then windows will say "new hardware found" and it will be my belkin wireless 54g f5d7050 adapter that it says it has found and then it will show two wireless things in the taskbar and i just cant connect to the internet.

after it says it has found "belkin 54g" it says this device can perform faster if you connect it to a high speed usb 2.0 port when i know its 2.0 because it was fine before - i have even used a pci usb card and i still had the same problem

it will last a few mins to a few hours - its really odd because i cant get back onto the internet unless i restart.

under device manager it shows 2 belkin 54g's too once this has happened

Either the Belkin or the USB2 socket is dying, IMO. Try it in another socket.

Id say you're Belkin is dying, not surprisingly!

You could check to see if there are new drivers but it sounds like a hardware prob.

Definately sounds like the Belkin, ruled out the USB port if tested in the PCI USB card
