Unwanted update to Windows 10!! How do I guard my privacy?

Right, the most annoying thing is the key logger, why does MS care what we type & I don't want the wrong person (well no person) getting what I type...

Two words. Data Mining. It's serious business these days. FB, MS, Google/YouTube, basically anyone who's primary service doubles up as an EPSIS is going to be data mining.

Resistance is futile because EPSIS operate at multiple layers and levels. It was inevitable that Microsoft would eventually establish their entire operating system as an EPSIS due to the fact that the data scope would be at the OS level, as opposed to application or service or transport level.

The ability for Microsoft to data mine at the OS level is worth far more than charging people for Windows. Which is why it's not about sales any more. It's about how many systems can be infected.

Took you a while.

Don't tell me you're denying the entire field and concept of data mining?

I'd like to see how you actually rationalise your denials. I mean the last time you denied something I said, you were denying the existence of actual physical buildings like the Utah Data Mining Centre.

Either way it's very interesting.

All I said was it took you a while. You like jumping to conclusions don't you.
So what have I concluded?

I haven't concluded anything from the phrase "it took you a while", that was concluded several months ago when you denied things like the Utah Data Mining Centre's existence and went on a little rant about various things I've mentioned years ago over dozens of threads which you've kept pent up because you were never able to compose a rational rebuttal in their respective threads.

Based on your previous postings, I was inclined to assume you may be denying the entire fields of research which I was describing in my post, which is what my post was discussing with another member when you suddenly butted in with your troll post "Took you a while.", which is why that part of my post was followed by a question mark. You initiated this exchange with an inconclusive post and I am asking you whether you are denying the existence of the field of data mining, not "concluding". Which you still haven't answered.

You don't seem to be able to debate things very well at all. Due to your history, I'm assuming (not concluding hence the question mark!) that you are denying what I said. Which is on the topic of Data Mining. Anyway, stop trolling please. This is the Windows discussion forum not the Windows fanboy forum. If you have something to discuss, discuss it. I don't have time to be figuring out what trolls on the internet are trying to say with their one-line nonsense.

Yes, but when it does a windows update they turn on the spy tools again...

one update did that, which they pulled from release and fixed.

so many irrational posts in here.
go to settings and turn off what you want.

even if you leave it on its not one big spy bot.

you do realise they've been doing this for decades, that the information is cleansed of identification content, but then snipped into fragments so they cant piece it back together again.

but hardly surprising once a bandwagon ha started its rear for it to crash and come to its senses.

So what have I concluded?

The fact that you're in denial? That was not concluded from the phrase "it took you a while", that was concluded several months ago when you denied things like the Utah Data Mining Centre's existence and went on a little irrational-borderline-emotional rant with various titbits I've mentioned years ago over dozens of threads which you've kept pent up because you were never able to compose a rational rebuttal in their respective threads.

Since you're in denial about a lot of things I'm logically inclined to believe you possess the level of irrationality required to deny entire fields of research and academia such as Data Mining, which is what my post was discussing with another member when you suddenly butted in with your troll post "Took you a while.", which is why that part of my post was followed by a question mark. I am asking you, not concluding, whether you are denying the existence of the field of data mining. Which you still cannot answer.

As an NSA agent I can neither confirm or deny.

Great, so you don't even hold an opinion nor are willing to discuss things on a discussion forum so you're confirming your only reason to post was to troll? :o

I still notice underlying conflicts though. No one has mentioned the "NSA" nor attributed any particular knowledge discovery initiatives to them. We're talking about Data Mining here. No need to pollute this thread with more of your discussion inhibiting nonsense. It would have been nice to have an adult discussion about the science of data mining and anyone who has an interest is still free to do so whether or not the NSA is allowed to confirm or deny the existence of Data Mining. I cant believe I'm still feeding the troll.

Absolutely, spot-on! :)
Google made their billions data-mining and selling advertising, it's why they bought Youtube, it's why they developed Gmail & Google+.

M$ has taken their business model and simply applied it at the OS level, rather than the website/browser level.
By being at the OS level they can mine so much more data than Google can cache from your searches and Youtube viewing.

It's why win10 was offered for free, the data is worth more than the £80 one-time license, the data can be sold and resold to anyone, especially advertisers.
The Internet is slowly being turned into what it was always intended to be, a cable-TV like subscription service relying on funding from advertising and spamming people with targeted adverts.

/tinfoilhat allegedly :p
