Update BIOS due to overclocking problems?

I am having a few overclocking problems and my motherboard BIOS is 2 versions old. Should I update my BIOS to see if that fixes the problem?

Also, I am on F1 of the BIOS software. Can I upgrade straight to F3 or do I have to go to F2 first and then F3? My motherboard is the Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4

Upgrading might sort the problem, have you checked to see if the major updae on the bios is for your issue?

If it is then its well worth the chance.
Dont forget you can fry your board updating the BIOS, so if you can do it via usb stick or floppy but avoid using windows unless you have no choice

In abot 40 bios flashes I've only fried 1 mobo, but thats 1 to many lol
Oh yes you can go stright to the latest version

F1 would be the first release correct? I'd be tempted to update, but look at what the fixes for the newer BIOSes actually are, they might not help at all.

If you're having overclocking problems, a BIOS can sometimes help, but it's usually down to a poor chip or lack of voltage rather than the BIOS.

I flashed via USB stick to F3 and it seems to have solved my problem
