ok guys, basically have just reformatted my PC and Win7 has kindly installed all my drivers for my motherboard for me etc.

now i want to run the chipset driver which i got from Asus but it wont instal over the one windows installed.

i know there is a command you enter on the end of the RUN command but can't remember what it is. can anyone help?

basically i go to RUN and enter:
D:\Home\Downloads\ASUS Drivers\Chipset\Intel_ChipsetInf_V9111014\Intel_ChipsetInf_V9111014\Setup.exe

at the end there should be an UPDATE ALL command or similar which forces the update.

any help would be appreciated

Don't use the one from the motherboard manuf site

Just google..

majorgeeks intel chipset

Download and install that, likely to be newer

At the time of writing, it's on 9.1.2.1008

Works for all intel chipsets, if it can't find a driver that you need, it just skips over them

seems to have done the trick. cheers fella

also found the command to enter after.
it's RUNALL

this will force the updated driver over the existing if Win7/vista is being a pain

i entered as so

C:\Users\Martin\Documents\INF_allOS_9.1.2.1008_PV.exe RUNALL
