Updated BIOS - No Picture Signal

Hi there,

I'm using a GA-965P-DS3. I've just updated my BIOS from F7 to F9 using the '@BIOS' program from gigabyte.

After succesfully running the program I switched off my computer, disconnected power and used a small flat-head screwdriver to connect the 2 CMOS jumpers to reset the battery. I then plugged up and switched on, but the monitor said there was no signal and put itself in to hibernate. The comp. itself now stays in a constant "start-up" mode; by that I mean when all the fans are at full power.

I've tried taking the CMOS battery out, but I just can't seem to do it! If anyone who has this MB can explain a safe and easy way to get it out I'd be extremely grateful.

Thanks for reading,

Abes

Sounds like update went wrong, Do you know anything about HotSwap Flashing? if so then i suggest you find someone willing to do it for you and give that ago - and re flash with latest bios.. or i cant member the site - but i think its biosrecovery.com? its a bit of cash but better than a new motherboard!

Never heard of "HotSwap Flashing" unfortunately. But you're right, anything that works is better than buying a new one! I shall start looking in to it ASAP.

Thanks

in that case mate i wouldn't bother - its a tad risky and complicated, oh that site is http://www.recoverybios.com/ works a treat apparently.. anyway :) just something to consider.. give it a while someone might come up with a fix - but i will be honest its rather unlikely you can do much other than reset the cmos.. which obviously hasn't worked - anyway mate best of luck

Well I don't think replacing the BIOS chip is an option, if the DS3 is anything like the DS4, the BIOS chip is hardwired onto the board. :(

I've sent 'recoverybios' an email, just to see if there's anything they can do. Damnit, you know that feeling when you just wish you'd left everything as it is? :p

I just updated my BIOS from F7 to F9.

There was not signal on first boot. Shut down the PC and disconnect the power for a minute. It worked for me (Just remember to load optimized defaults and put your settings back if you need to)

Oops: Brain messed up, You already tried that

depending on ** graphics card, try unplugging the DVI/VGA connector and try the other port...

sometimes, one is "hot" the other one is not. i have had this happen to me before..

also try different PCI-Express bus...

other than that all i can see is that BIOS update messed up. and the advice u got so far is good

Doesn't the DS3 have any form of BIOS recovery?

I've been looking through the manual, it's a bit all over the place so I might be missing something. However, I'm not entirely sure how it'd be able to help me when the computer just does nothing (no beeps) except turn on at the most basic level.

Right, I'm not taking this option straight away obviously, but if worst comes to worst and I end up having to get a new MB, is there one people would recommend for the specs below? If I do have to go down this route I might be willing to spend a bit more on an MB that people rate more:

C2D E6300 @ 1.86GHz
X1900XT 512MB
GEIL 6400 800MHz 1Gb (x2)
550W PSU
