Got a 192GB Transcend, that I've had for a couple of years and switched over to OCZ about a year ago & want to update the drives firmware before either selling it or throwing it in an old laptop.

The FW is supposed to help with any lag issues.

Problem is I can't get the thing to update at all. There's a DOS update tool that you stick on a USB stick, boot with USB as default in IDE mode, then run the updater. Problem I get is that the drive is seen in BIOS, but when I use the USB pen, it boots into DOS, then asks me to set the date & time for some reason then just gives me a command prompt.

The .pdf that comes with the installer said it should just detect the drive, as you to confirm the correct drive, then update, but it's just not happening. I think it's quite an old installer, so don't know if it's just crap.

Anyone else had issues with Transcend SSD's?
