My phone has Android version 1.6, while my table has 2.2. I wish to update both of these, but am having difficulty in doing so. Being that the OS is free I'm not sure why.

Does anybody have any links for example or any other info about how I go about doing this?

The 1.6 is installed on an XPeria X10 Mini, and only the WiFi drivers apparently need updating.

Cheers.

XPeria X10 Mini has 2.1 available as an update - when i did my sisters X10 i had to connect it to a pc to do the update. have you tried that?

Mine's running Chrome not Android, well the legs are Chrome anyway ;)

I've got Gingerbread on my table, along side the kit kats and rich tea..

:D

On a more serious note, the OS is free, but it requires the manufacturer to build it specifically with all the right drivers/tweaks to support their bespoke hardware, of which some of it might not be up to the job performance wise of being able to run a newer version.. and then, if branded, the phone company then need to apply their own 'branding' to it..

The best place to check is WWW.XDA-DEVELOPERS.COM, where a lot of community developers tend to develop new firmwares faster then the official manufacturers, if your device is remotely popular in this way, you'll probably find what you are looking for..

There's a CM7 port for it(Gingerbread) if you don't want the bog standard Sony update from SEUS as stated above.

As it's a custom ROM, expect a few bugs if you install it.

Yeap just found this myself. I'll have a bash with this first, and then downgrade to 2.1 if it doesn't work.

I don't really use the phone to take photos so it's not a problem. The camera's pretty featureless anyway I find. Quite basic.

If you mess it up, it's pretty easy to revert/fix anyway so it's worth a try :)

And the camera is actually quite decent for a phone, 5MP and LED flash. The default SE Camera application sucks though.

Ok everything's updated fine and I've got what I was using before up and running.

However now when I leave it on charge the handset screen comes onto the key unlock screen every ten minutes. I can't figure out why though.
