Updating ATI drivers.

I've got a really STUPID problem with updating my ATI drivers. Now if I update to anything 5.11 (not sure about 5.10) or above I get corruption in games like CS:S and Battlefield 2 (like fubared text and weapon models). If I use say the 5.9's then games run fine? Has anyone got any ideas on what could cause it?


BTW - my card's an X800XT AGP.

Just a hunch but have you tried just installing the drivers without the control center?

yes, i use tray tools.

Have you tried Driver Cleaner ?

Have you got that net: thingy installed? IIRC you need that for the latest drivers.

Microsoft NET Framework 1.1 or similar, if you havent it will prompt you the MS website to download it.

Guys, I don't have the Catalyst Control Center installed so I do not need the .NET program. I have used driver cleaner, so that isn't the problem.

Uninstall from control panel
Uninstall with driver cleaner
Reboot
Install new drivers (WITHOUT the Control Center)
Reboot
Install ATI tray tools.

Is there any advantage to not installing the control center? Also what is wdm nsp and is it necessary? Sorry, i'm new to ati.

i dunno but my BF2 and WoW crash quite frequently now. BF2 just closes on its own sometimes when i get heavy lag or FPS lag. And WoW goes straight into a reboot sometimes.

It shouldnt be over heating as i have the side open and its fairly well vented
