Just a few questions before i install the latest bios for my mobo.
Is it advisable to change all settings back to default before actually updating the bios? (i.e. removing all overclocks)
If i do have to return the bios to default settings would i then have to slowly overclock and test for stability using orthos etc after installing the new bios? or would i be able to just re-enter my previous settings straight away?

Its certainly advisable to reset to defaults before updating. Versions of 13 and 14 also require a higher refresh cycle time, set in Advanced Chipset settings of the bios. This may force you to boot up with one stick of ram just to get to bios to make the change. Shut down, reinsert your extra ram, and you should be fine.

You can reapply your previous settings immediately afterwards, but you'd do well to reaffirm your o/c with an overnight Orthos run - just to make sure the upgrade plays well. I found v14beta to be less stable for my settings, and rolled back to 13b03 with no complaints. I haven't tried v14 release yet.
