HI all, i have been a bit out of the loop for a while and i wanr to bet this right first time.

I have quite old drivers running with my 7900gt. I have downloaded the new ones off the nvidia website.

How do i got about installing it. Just over the top of the old ones?

get the 92.91's, great driver set

updated drivers usually contain new game profiles and the odd tweak here and there for performance increases :)

Remove the old drivers from add and remove programs in control panel.

Reboot.

Install new

Reboot

Install coolbits

Done :D

What about using driver cleaner ? Or dont that matter anymore ?

Boot into safe mode
Add remove programs remove driver
run driver cleaner
reboot back into safe mode
install new drivers
reboot

as for a reason to update:
Support for newer games, bug fixes, existing game improvements giving you more fps etc

especially if you have SLI, getting newest drivers ensures SLI will actually function when your playing new games

As for coolbits...no point if your not gona overclock your card, thats all it does, gives you two sliders to oc your memory and gpu core

im guessing it means if your gfx card has the power it will render more frames than just what it shows on the screen, so that they are ready to go as you move into them, therefore it would stop screen lag spikes when transitioning between two frames
