Hi guys,

Has anyone had any experience of updating the firmware of an nvme, fitted inside a USB caddy? - I'm guessing the preferred/safest method would be to update the drive whilst it is directly connect to the mobo's m2 port.

Any ideas?

Would you be able to do so via USB? I've never used a caddy for an M2 drive, but the SATA ones I have show as a different device.

I'd not risk it and just throw it into the motherboard to do. A little bit of a faff, but better than a dead drive.

Yeah, having slept on it - definitely. My caddy only sees a Realtek adapter, no mention of the nvme. The WD utility didn't detect either... I'm happy it doesn't work ;)

I'll pull my main out later. Thanks!
