Updating McAfee 8.0 Problem

Hi

I have just installed McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.0i on my PC, when I go to update the definitions etc, i get the following error message:

"Failed to initialize Common Updater subsystem. Make sure that the McAfee Framework Service is running. McAfee Common Framework returned error ffffffdf @ 3"

Can anyone help?

have u tried reinstalling it?

Start->Run->services.msc
Double click on McAfee Framework Service to open. Make sure it's set to automatic and then start the service.

Yeah, I reinstalled it and turned the service on, but still no luck. I've downloaded a free program and installed that.
