Updating Monitor Software?

So I've had my monitor for a few years, and have never thought that it might have drivers/software for it.

So I went to the LG site, found my monitor under Support, and there are a few things available for download.

Link

One of them is just pictures of the monitor :S

The other is this forteManager, which I believe is just for calibration of the colours and contrast etc.

But the middle one contains 3 files:
w2361.cat
w2361.icm
w2361.inf

Are these driver updates for it? Should I install them?

And if yes, how?

Any help much appreciated.

It's a file to help the system calibrate your monitor to the correct colours and other devices such as printers, scanners, etc. I dunno if they are still useful on Windows 7/8

You can just right click on the .inf file, and select "install" on the context menu.

You can just right click on the .inf file, and select "install" on the context menu.

"The INF file you selected does not support this method of installation."

Go into Device Manager (Start, right click Computer, select Manage, click Device Manager). Find your monitor, right click it and Update Driver, then select manually choosing a driver, and point it at the folder the .inf is in.

Thanks, that worked.

Not sure if it did anything apart from making my PC recognise the brand of the monitor, but oh well worth doing I guess.
