Updating the bios

In fact floppy's are a lot more reliable than any windows based flash utility, plus you can set your own parrameters as well. As i run a DFI mobo i can and do use T-Mod's CD, which is also rock solid. But when i'm testing Neo's or any other third party's bios's then i always use a floppy, fool proof(it needs to be :D)and has never given me a bad flash since 1996.

sometimes the floppies seem OK and perform OK, but they wouldnt be OK for bios flashes and installing drivers and the driver installation/bios update fails, thats what I have found few times.

I bought a bios savior back when I had nforce2 boards. It works with a 4Mb ROM. I have it working with my Nforce4 now, and I read the DS3 also has a 4Mb rom which is probably compatible but Id have to double check.

Just because u turn the pc on to be greeted with a blank screen doesnt always mean u need a new chip (and thats after resetting CMOS). Ive recovered by creating an auto-flash floppy with latest bios (once I had sorted it I decided to fit my bios savior to the nforce 4 ;))
