upgrade £250-£300

YOUR BASKET
1 x Sapphire HD 7870 XT rev2.0 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with Tomb Raider & Bioshock PC Games £203.99
1 x Corsair Builder Series CX 500w Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020059-UK) £54.98
1 x Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX) £39.95
Total : £298.92 (includes shipping : FREE).

Check the max length of GPU your case can take. This 7870XT is closely related to the 7950 rather than being a standard 7870. A B grade 7950 is tempting but you don't cop the free games going with that option

It would be silly to drop £200 on a regular 7870.

This card is almost as quick as a 7950/GTX670 (as it uses a Tahiti LE design and has 1536 shaders) and will overclock enough to easily surpass 7950 performance.

1 x VTX3D HD 7870 Black Boost Edition 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £189.95

And I would get this lot personally:

cheers guys gonna go with acme15's basket with a modular power supply by akasa as in the future i will probably xfire this card

If you plan of crossfiring in the future, you will need at least 650W, and a 700 - 750W would be my recomendation for two 7870 XT/7950's.

The PSU's we recommended would be ideal for a single GPU setup.

Hono's basket is very similar to my one as well. The 7870XT is essentially the same as the Black Boost Edition, and his spec has a modular PSU, whereas I went for the out and out reliability option :)

But as I said, for crossfire, 550W would not be enough.
