I can't thank you enough for your input guys, my intention is to build a system to last me 5 years with maybe just a gpu upgrade so I'm questioning lots before I buy.

is the kraken not worth the extra £40 over the hydro 100i?

Apart from the 4 x SSD goodness, the £600-£700 doesn't really give him a lot more over my simple spec..
