Cheers RJC

Just asking fella, how good a system would the above be if i orderd it today, and are these things easy to put together as i did my old system but just asking mate, many thx for lookin for me.

It will be pretty good, you should be able to upgrade to newer cpu's if needed, but with the tri-core cpu and being the black edition you will get a good overclock if needed.
Putting it all together is fairly easy, only tricky bit will be the cables to the leds on the case, I tend to get them round the wrong way 90% of the time.

One thought, I would change the motherboard to the Gigabyte for the extra £10.00 ~, clicky

Hope the above helps :)

Ok chaps i will order the above system with the other mobo u suggested RJC, and many thanks for the advice as i say i dont have a clue, erm with this new system which OS would u go for, im currently using the old XP Pro.

again many thanks

Good luck, don't forget to post some pics :)

Operating system you can download windows 7 RC and use that until it's launched in Oct
(you can use it until later next year) or buy Vista.

If your operating system is OEM then it's tide to the board it was originally activated on.

Orderd :) thx RJC i wasnt keen on the tower wanted a nicer one but sayin that didnt wanna pay to much for it, but anyway orderd the bits u recommend and the other mobo so again ty, not sure about OS tho as i dont have win 7 or vista so.......not sure were to go there and saw the prices and exspencive lol.

cheers

All orderd but i did go for the second PSU, so im hoping it all works when i set it up next week, just need to find a descent OS having used XP for so many years lol

Again Thx for the help.

No probs :)

Pc case is a personal choice, you still got time to have a look and change your mind, I would assume the items will not ship until Monday.

With Windows 7 you can download the RC version for free and use that for the time being, I think starting July 15th you can pre order windows 7 for a special price if you have the RC version.

erm why not this PSU instead surely its worth the extra couple of quid?

True, but the op still has time to change if he requires.

In all honesty I am not to hot on sound cards, I have been using on-board sound which I have no complaints.

Mmmm ok RJC, il stick with onboard sound for now but i might upgrade the sound and get a card but hoping 1 or 2 more will post there thoughts but we see, i have dl windows 7 but i see its only a trial, but thought about vista but which one would be the best to get 32 or 64, again many thank for your help fella every gratefull,

The current Windows 7 RC expires March onwards next year (can't remember full date) But, Come 15th July you can pre-order Windows 7 for a special price of £50.00, but you need to be quick there is limited supplies.

Which ever operating you choose look at 64bit, been using Vista HP 64Bit for almost 2 years and only had a few very minor problems.

Ok all bits came this afternoon and everythink is there, the next bit is putting it together, now ive never done this b4 with all new itemsso are there any tips, or is it just take my time and check everythink it installed properly and all cables secure plus this is my first PCI-E system so dont understand sata etc so any tips would be great lol.

many thx

it's really very simple, like lego as they say. Take your time like you said, and the motherboard manual explains everything, with pictures to help =)

good luck, and feel free to ask if you have any troubles.

Ok im trying to install this new system but already stuck on the PSU lol, ive fitted the mobo fine but when i look at the PSU there two power connectors !, one is oblong shape with 24 pins and theres another with 2*4 pins, sort of read instructions but still confused the dumb ass i am lol, but do i have to plug both power supplys in the mobo or not, thats if u kno what i mean so i hope some1 can help as im lost lmfao sorry:confused:

Heres the PSU i have

You will need to install the 24 ATX and the 2 x 4 pins (8 pin) which supplies power to the cpu.

Edit: You might have a spare 4 pin lead, don't worry about this, (my 620HX has this not sure if your one has)
