Just as an update- the model of my PSU is OCZ ZS 650w Bronze - Is this worth upgrading?

Sorry to be a pain. But I'm going to be moving the goal posts a bit here. I now know for sure that I want to buy a 1440p 144hz monitor. However I want to make sure I have the right pc to support this. I know this might well not fit in my budget so happy to extend it within reason- what sort of set up would I need to achieve this?

Well it's the same resolution so that wouldn't need anything extra. If you're looking for more frames per second then just up the graphics horsepower.

AMD are about to release the RX 480. That will probably handle 2650x1440 very well.
