Ive currently got a Nvidia 7950gt 512mb card and im looking to upgrade to a DX10 model
i only have buget for either an ATI 2600 series or a Nvidia 8600 series card
which of these is going to be the better card for my system
Currently running win xp pro but will be updating to Vista 64bit ultimate when it arrive's

2 gig Muskin redline 4000 (2x 1gig) DDR

I not sure they as powerful, i would wait until you can get a 320/2900xt/640 or wait until refreash in nov, i am still on xp but got vista 64 on dual boot was going to sort it out for bioshock but will wait until crysis as i will upgrade my cpu and motherbroad and ram then
 
I had my 320 now for 6 months and to be truthful i waiting to see a big difference in dx10 from dx9 when i do then i will swop over
 
damn that 79 series, failure rate is silly high on them. if you only got little cash then get a stop gap card till november time hopefully nvidia will have something new out and may be good value for money. either way 8800 will drop in price then.
