Hi there Warecast. That seems a decent upgrade for your current PC.

Is this the one from your other thread? Didn't you say it had a 650W OCZ? If you find the model number, we'll check, but it should be a decent one and no need to change.

Different build.
This one is for my cousin, we bought the same spec, apart from he bought cheapo psu. =)

Thanks,
I'll order when I get the funds for him =)
Also I'm getting this monitor for my computer because I don't have one I'm using a TV
HANNS boston W19

The 460 is better than the 6850. Includes cuda support, I have one which i have OC'd to 900mhz, you'll get 850mhz easy from it. It is B grade so might be missing the Driver disk etc. Is much cheaper because it's B grade though...ill put the normal retail price below :) PSU has more wattage it could run 2 460s/6850s or a much higher rated GPU should he upgrade in the future. I dont use value RAM so added the corsair XMS3 which is a good brand

That's the 460 at stock speeds (675mhz) vs the 6850. Remember the 460 i have spec'd is clocked much higher and you can push it further still so the scores should be much higher ;)

The timings on the RAM are not the same,
Will my Mobo support nvidia it is AsRock HVS-H55M for amd
I don't usually like buying things used, what are all of the benefits of the 460 over the 6850???

AMD bought out ATI. You can use either nvidia or AMD/ATI GPUs no problem. The 460 is better, i edited in a link showing FPS scores in games. Nvidia also has HBAO as well as SSAO occulsion lighting (AMD just has SSAO), HBAO looks better in my opinion......oh and it's tech for making the shadows look more realistic before you ask. You also get cuda, which allows some software to use the GPU as a second CPU to help get the job done quicker. Many video encoders use it as does adobe for example.

It's B grade because someone has returned it, it's not really used as such just been opened and returned, you still get a 3 month warranty with it.

I would rather get an extra warrenty, I know that AMD brought out ATI and looking at the benchmarks, not much of a difference.

I said that's the stock 460 at 675mhz. Check the core speed of the EVGA 460s.....i'll wait ;)

Running at 850-900mhz the 460 is as fast as an AMD 6870 nigh on

So it's faster, has better lighting tech and adds cuda support. If you want the longer warranty i would still go for the EVGA 460 f.t.w over a 6850 myself. Your choice though bud.

Ok, I might get it soon.
I'll update on my purchase =)

I'll be honest having seen it at that price B grade or no for £90 i'm seriously tempted to nab one myself to run alongside the one i already own in SLI ;)

Oh and considering how cheap RAM is, if i was you i would consider dropping the RAM purchase now so you have more cash towards the PSU and or GPU. With free delivery you can order a stick of RAM later...it's such an easy upgrade to do as well.
