Upgrade CPU cooler?

ATM I'm running a Nero s cooler inside a silverstone ft02 fortress case, on an overclocked i7 950 at 4ghz though at load on prime I get temps of around 80c just wondering what difference an upgrade to a silver arrow cooler might make?

Hi, i will try, i am not familiar with your present cooler, but once i upgraded from a Tuniq Tower to a NH-D14, which, the Silver Arrow is slightly better, my temps dropped over 20.C.
So i would defo recommend it.
Just make sure it will clear your ram.

im running corsair XMS3 so the heat spreaders on those dont stand much taller than the naked RAM stick heh, thanks for the info, I'd say my current cooler is on par with the tuniq tower, if not a little worse, so i should see a massive temp decrease if what you say is true :)
 
just an update, completed a 5 hour run of prime, max temps 87C :( the new cooler deffo needs ordering. shame its out of stock on oc
