hia, i have a nvidia 295, q9550 @4ghz, 4GB DDR2 1066 MHZ corsair dominator ram. was thinking of upgrading either my GPU for 2 6950's or upgrading CPu MB etc with a 2600k z68 gigyabyte MB and kingston 2x4GB ddr3 1600mhz ram.

what you think would be better. not all convinced with a gpu upgrade so close to new releases...

I think you should wait till next year.

I had a GTX295 once, while its missing DX11 features it was a very fast card that could monster games.

Your current CPU is still good and with that overclock you are running should not be a bottleneck.

Wait for games such as BF3/Skyrim to be released and then see how your performance fairs.

I'd say upgrade your graphics card and maybe get another 4gb of ram as bf3 eats a lot of ram. You might want to wait until the 7 series ati cards come out if your managing ok with your current card. My Q9550 @4ghz handled Bf3 beta really well and surprised me.

thanks for reply. may well wait. a CPU MB ram upgrade wouldnt cost a lot if i sold my old CPU MB ram etc would it ...

People would be fighting over themselves to get your old stuff if you had members market access.

What is the motherboard you currently got?

I'm currently trying to rack up 250 posts for market access... Its taking me a long time!! So annoying as I have been using this forum for years but don't post much.

^ this ...

If upgrading is not a hastle for you then I would be tempted to trade up to a base i5 / 1155 bundle - maybe even step back to an i3 and pick up an upgrade later on. Prices are very good for your cpu and ram but you'll probably get robbed on the motherboard - even then ddr3 prices are dirt cheap so overall you'll pull a pretty cheap upgrade.
