Time for an upgrade, thinking of either finally upgrading the CPU/Mobo/Ram or the GPU. I use the PC for gaming only. My problem is will the CPU majorly bottleneck a 1080/ti if so am I best upgrading to Ryzen now, then a new GPU in the future?

Depends what resolution you play at and which games you play. I have a very similar setup to you but 4690 and 980ti and what I decided to do was grab another 980ti for SLI. In some games it definately helped as most games tend to GPU bottleneck before they CPU bottleneck. I believe for the money it's the better choice as a new CPU/MOBO/RAM would cost 3x as much and wouldn't have given much of an improvement if any in games. I think you would definately need to upgrade your PSU too before SLI.
