upgrade cpu windows 10 question

if i change my cpu does that mean i will have to do a clean install of windows 10? or can i just change it and carry on ok?

If not changing motherboard chipsets you don't need to do anything, so, for example, if you have a Z270 board and you go from a 7600K to a 7700K you need not do anything. Bios and OS will see new CPU. Done.

If you change motherboard chipsets you should really reinstall.

Not a problem - Windows won't care/will adapt.

If your BIOS isn't up to date you may want to flash that to latest.
