Well a few months ago everything was fine and dandy.
Now with the phasing out of socket 939 i'm left with quite a dilemma.
I have a Opty [email protected]
DFI LanParty NF4 SLI-DR EXPERT
1GB Geil Value 3200
BFG 7600GT
With the imminent arrival of of Vista and DX10, there is a definite need to upgrade. Graphics card is a must upgrade.
Option 1: Forget dual core for now and just upgrade my RAM to 2GB, although my mobo only supports DDR1, but then DDR3 is just around the corner. So i could be wasting my money. Although with better ram i could push my Opty closer to 3.0Ghz
Option 2: As X2's are starting to go out of production, grab one before they disappear (partially futureproof). Although my Opty is faster for games.
Option 3: Change mobo, ram and CPU and get a Conroe (Very expensive) Very rarely rip dvd's or encode music so not benefit there.
I play mainly games, but as the CPU doesn't make much of a difference to framerate i just dont know what to do?
Any ideas?
