current spec is:

lian-li PC7 Plus
e6600
2gb OCZ PC6400
8800GTX
2x 7200.10 baracuda 320gb drives
1x 500gb caviar drive
1x 250gb WD drive
media card reader + floppy disk
sony DVDRW
tuniq120 cooler
stock 2x 120mm fans

Ive got a side window and it looks pretty dark so im looking to improve on that, also looking to improve on chassis vibrations being removed i.e quieter. Doesnt have to be a silent system since i use headphones most of the time but when i take them off or try to sleep i dont want constant irritation. Im thinking of buying the following:

2x Zalman ZM-2HC2 Silent Hard Disk Heatpipe Cooler (for the baracudas)
4x Akasa Serial ATA 45cm DAYGLO Orange Data Cable
1x Acousti Ultra-Soft Arrowhead Fan Mounts - 8 Pack
1x Metal Thumbscrews 6 pack - Aluminium Cases (Type 2)
1x Akasa AK-PAX-2 PaxMate Plus Acoustic Absorption Mat
1x SpeedLink Medusa SL-8793 5.1 ProGamer Edition

Can i get opinions on these parts? specifically i want to know if the hard drive enclosures will improve noise, make no difference, or make it worse cause the last 1s i got from ****** sucked (2 long stripes of rubber that the HDD screwed onto.

Also want to know if those fans have LEDs or UV etc, if not would like some LED fans which are 120mm, silent, but good airflow if any exist (couldnt really see any on OC apart from this).

Dont know if this acoustic mat thing is worth buying or not, or how it works. Any experience stories of it would be good. Feel free to comment on remaining components as well and whether you'd change anything.

The noise from my system is whats bugging me the most atm, it seems to eminate from the top of the chassis even though its just the dvdrw drive there, i think its a weak spot in the chassis design or something

only bit i have experience of is the acoustimat stuff

they get the sound inside the case and stop it getting out

unfortunately they do this for heat as well. Only recommnded for people wanting the very quitest of cases

if your an overclocker of any sort, or watch your temps. Forget it.

yea i was concerned about that, dont see much chance of heat passing through that material. The main 2 things im still unsure of is the fan and HDD cage. Im really just wanting the cage to lower noise in my system so does anyone know if its worth it? its not like my HDDs crash due to heat or anything.

i've seen sombody suspend a HD from laggy bands before.

Fundamentally anything that acts a barrier between the drive and the case will stop it vibrating.

yeah thats the best way as it eliminates any contact between the drives and case, also the cheapest :D

instead of the zalmans have a look round for drive coolers, basically boxes that help stop noise and keep the drives cool.

how flexible are you're side panels for the case, might be worth some of the matting if they flex a bit as it should deaden any vibration, worked quite well on my slk3000b.
