UPGRADE FROM 939

Hi, I'm upgrading from a socket 939 system 3200+, 512 Ram, Geforce 7600GS, I've put together my new rig and come up with the following, need some support and advice on the following components :

I will be using it for encoding and heavy gaming. Does it look ok? Any advice for a specific cooler would be appreciated. Will be overclocking it hopefully, past 4GHZ.

Also, might wait for the new ATI cards so none listed so far. However, if they're a bit steep on price, I'm looking at a GTX275. Any changes on the spec for room with improvement would be much appreciated.

I may be wrong but I thought that with the i7 9xx triple channel ram it was quicker for encoding

im in the process of upgrading from the 939 comp in my sig. I went for a i7 920, Giga UD5 and patriot 6GB combo (a favourite on here for getting 4GHz) and for the money your quoting there for the lynnfield set up you could get the same (x58 has 50% more ram and more pci-e lanes).

By the way, I got the Corsair HX750 too, its a beast, absolutely lovely, flat modular cables, a velco case for the spare cables and the 7 year warranty is damn good.

Sorry for the late reply! They are arriving this morning (bar the case, psu and dvd rewriter which I bought a couple of weeks back)

Goin from 939 to i7 1366, you can tell I dont do big upgrades often and decided that I want the best platform I could afford that would last 4-5 years. After looking at am3, p55 and X58, the X58 seems to be the better platform with more ram and pcie bandwidth for not much extra over a i7 860 + decent mobo.
