Hi,

I fancy a change from my G500 which has been great but I like new shiny things, can anyone recommend anything that has the following features for FPS mostly BF4 -

Thumb buttons
Free scroll option
Able to change the sensitivity
Heavy or weights that can be added
Wired
Palm grip
Nothing too cheesy gamer style

Thanks

It has everything but I'm not a fan of how it looks at all, really not fussed on RGB either, is that the only difference from the original?

Are there any others?

Thanks

Logitech G700S.

Thumb buttons - CHECK (x4)
Free scroll option - CHECK
Able to change the sensitivity - CHECK (on the fly, too)
Heavy or weights that can be added - CHECK (comparatively heavy)
Wired - CHECK (it can do both)
Palm grip - CHECK (for small and medium hands. Anything above a size 9 may struggle)

Nothing too cheesy gamer style... down to opinion. It has no headlights or light-up logos. Those few LED it does have are very functional.

Thanks, maybe I'll just have to get over its looks. what kind of surface do you use it on?

I noticed on the Logitech site linked above it said it was tested directly on wood veneer IE no surface.

RGB lighting is indeed the only difference. As for other mice, ive only ever used logitech G5's and my current G500. Had a brief test run with a relatives standard G502 and really liked it.

The G502 is far superior to the G500, it's tracking and precision are in a different league.
As mentioned to the op, after a brief test session with the G502, i can agree that it does feel far superior to the 500. Playing bf4 i found it to be much more responsive.

I use an OCUK MegaMat mainly, but in Wireless mode I'm watching movies while sat back on the sofa, so using either my jeans-clad thigh or the dog's belly... whichever is in the right place at the time!

I like the look of that G700S but is it just a rehoused G500? Cant find any comparison charts on Logitech's website
I'm not directly familiar with the 500 series, but apparently the G500 and G500S both have lag issues and many have capacitor whine... the G700S does not have either of these.

Also, more buttons on the 700 - 4 on the thumb, three left of the Left Click, tilt scroll and the mouse clutch & profile switch up top, the latter of which can also be reassigned.
Obviously you can go wireless, or just plug in the charging cable and continue in wired while it charges. In fact, I hardly ever unplug mine, but it's useful every now and then. On-board memory for all your profiles and macros and what-have-you.
The G700S is something like 50g heavier too, I believe.

Ok thanks, I need to weigh up the differences between the 502 and the 700, kind of leaning toward the 502 at the moment, Tons Hardware gave it 10/10 as a great all rounder

The Corsair M65 is supposed to be good too though

Stuff it I'm going to get the 502, Setter when will the Spectrum version be in stock please, the current version shows as out of stock so assume its EOL or will more be coming in?

TH only gave the 700 a 7/10, but they judged it heavily as an MMO mouse, while merely noting that it worked exceptionally well in most other genres... all while ignoring the fact that it wasn't even marketed as an MMO mouse in the first place!!
I'd say that's a little skewed.

However, it depends what you want from your mouse.
If you really can make use of all 12,000dpi, then the 502 is probably more your thing. I wanted a decent mouse with as many buttons as possible and a reasonably high dpi. The 700 has 8200dpi, which is pretty darn high even today.

Also, go here: http://gaming.logitech.com/en-us/gaming-mice
Then click the little boxes to the right to compare different mice.

The G700S is the best mouse I've ever had and I've even passed over more recent mice because they lack the features this one has. The only others I'd personally consider right now are the Aorus Thunder M7 or the Roccat Tyon.

Thanks for the compare thing I didn't see that yesterday, the 502 has all the boxes ticked for everything I want so going to go with that, just waiting for OCUK to get stock of the model in

Cheers

The Corsair M65 feels really small in your hands. After using my G500s for years moving to the M65 felt weird. Used it for 4 months, then sold it in the end and moved on to the G602

Thanks for the info, I ruled the M65 out, definitely want a 502 just waiting for stock

Thinking of going for a softer mouse mat, I use a Steal Series 4HD at the mo but fancy an SS QCK, for £9 they are worth a go, anyone have any experience of a 502 + QCK?

Cheers
