Upgrade from Logitech G500

No but please come back and tell us what its like afterwads. As don't know which ones to get.

And is it really necessary (a proper mat)? just have the wooden tabletop here.

I would say so, tried my G500 on my desk and my 4HD and the difference is night and day, the 4HD is great but I need something more comfortable

Steelseries Rival 700 coming spring.

I'll just leave this right here :)

Looks interesting, especially the vibration thing. Its optical and not laser though, not sure of the real life difference. No reviews yet and cant see if it has free wheel scroll anywhere

g502 is also optical:)

g502 is a great mouse, probably my pick from the bunch, but it isnt perfect.
* free scrolling on logi wheels is totally over rated.
* It's a bit small for large hands (and not as comfortable as the g500 or mx518 for example)
* the 3rd thumb button is placed so far forwards that you need 6 inch thumbs to be able to use it.
* the DPI- button is badly placed and i often hit it accidentally if im hammering left click.

Still love it though :p

Oh yeah, don't know why I thought it was optical

Thanks for the feedback, what makes it not as comfortable as a G500, I find the G500 very comfortable and was hoping the 502 would be similar, does it not meet the palm of your hand as much? That's pretty important for me

I love the free scrolling, I use it all the time and would miss it if I didn't have it

Hi,

Just to let you know I bought a Proteus Core but unfortunately its having to go back, the design is completely different from previous Logitech mice and is causing me to get cramp in my hand, shame as the sensor, smoothness and tracking of the mouse is great but ergonomically its very uncomfortable for me.

I need something with a wide ass :)

It's really a claw grip mouse rather than a palm mouse. I always found the G5 and G500 to be slightly too small for palm grip as well though.

What do you use please? Reading pages and pages of info and still not sure whats worth a risk of ordering to suit my grip, I think I want something with a big ass to fit the base of my hand

G700S looks the right size and shape but its wireless so too expensive for me, even the £70 was too expensive for the Proteus for features I'll never use. I'm looking for something cheaper this time which is comfortable, I keep looking at the Zowie range but there has been a product recall

My G500 also double clicks on the right click, annoying but I can live with it for the comfort until I find a replacement

G700S is both wireless and wired. You can switch between the two. My only concern is that it is carrying a battery so I need to try it out to see what it feels like.

Moved from the G500s to the G602 and it feels just as good in the hand. THe shape is physically the same so if you liked the 500s the 602 is a great mouse. The 500s is a touch lighter if you load the 602 with two battery's but with just the 1 battery, they feel remarkably similar in weight.

Great replacement IMO and the longer life on the battery is nice then faffing around trying to get other batteries or constantly charging other ones. A certain rainforest seems to have sales on now and then. Got it for sub £40

Some pics of the two on an potato camera showing the profiles, I hope

That's great thanks for the pics, the part that fit in your palm at the top seems thinner and less rounded, this the problem I had with th 502 although it doesn't look as bad plus I need a lighter mouse these days as I have an issue with my wrist

Appreciate the feedback

I use the 502, but have adopted a claw/fingertip grip style.
The g500 it replaced which subsequently went into service as my work mouse is suffering really badly from the double click now, it's becoming next to useless. I pretty much use claw/fingertip with that as well now.

I'm going to look at mouses tomorrow. I'm looking at the G502, G700s and any others while I'm there.

Edit:
I came away with a G502. I didn't think I would use the wireless feature of the G700 so the extra cost didn't appeal. The G502 feels a little lower and longer than the G500. It doesn't fill your palm like the G500 does but it is really good feeling mouse. The movement feels very accurate and the extra buttons are useful.
