Looking at doing up an old machine,

Currently running fx-57, 2gig ram, and sli XFX 6800Ultra's

For around £100, What single card would be the best upgrade graphics wise, As im outta the loop regarding the new cards :(.

Thanks

A 9600GT/8800/9800GT/X, or an HD4830/50/70 would all be big upgrades but would be held back by your CPU. What size TFT do you have?

Ill take a look at the 9800's, The only games this rig plays is WoW and Lotro, so i dont want to over do it.

is that pc in your sig your main PC?

if so put those 8800GTSs into that old Pc and get yourself a 4850 or 9800GTX+for your main pc i day, it may be a bit slower, but you wont have all the problems associated with multi-GPU displays and the 4850 handles AA much better then the 8800GTS 320MB ever did ,otherwise go with post 2

Sorry sig was a little outta date. The 320mb GTS has gone, running two OcUK GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB, I've thought about putting these cards in the other machine, But I figured the cost of getting a single card to beat both of them would be too high.

+ These two cards have never given me problems, Id rather not mess with them whilst im stable :D. Looking more for a cheap update for the other rig

For that res why not go a little higher mate, could you stretch to the gtx280? a few left at 209.....

Otherwise maybe go for the best nvidia card you can then you can always add another in SLI in the future...... 9600gt is a good price here..... and they run nicely when paired up (+ low power consumption)
