Upgrade Gfx card or System?

Hey guys,

Been out of the whole PC upgrade thing for a while as my PC has been able to handle pretty much anything in full settings until I tried Shogun 2 and the new IL-2 game!

Question is, do I get a new graphics card or am I better off just changing the CPU/Mobo?

My Current rig is

Asus Striker Extream
Intel Q6600
4gb OCZ SLI RAM
BFG 260GTX OC Max Core
Enermax Galaxy 1000W PSU

I am thinking of changing the 260 for a 460GTX however the spec's seem to be just a bit better however the RAM type is GDDR5 and not DDR3.

I don't really want to purchase a new gfx card only to find out that my CPU is acting as a bottle neck and I see a 1fps increase or something silly like that.

Budget would be around the £150 for a Gfx card and probably £250 for a system rebuild (as I could get some cash back for the old cpu etc).

Any advice would be great

cheers

Never been a fan of the ATI cards (not sure why tbh) however will I be shooting myself in the foot running one on an Nvidia Mobo?
