Hi, got a bit of an old spec'd system compared to what is out there at the moment so I was looking at maybe getting a new graphics card to beef up what I've got without overhauling it to much. Currently I have:
Athlon 64 3500, 1 gig ram (DDR400, 1 slot no dual channel), GeForce 6800GT 256 meg, some crappy HDD's and a useless monitor.
The motherboard is a KT800PRO Asus (or abit, cant remember) AV8 and therefore only has an AGP slot which kinda reduces what I can do with my system.
Bearing in mind the above, what should I do to upgrade to get the greatest performance gain? A nice new graphics card would be good, but would AGP hinder it too much? The motherboard restricts a new processor and new RAM, and that would be pretty expensive to go down that route and would seem a bit restrictive as the graphics card would then be the limiting factor.
Any idea what to do?
