So i'm a bit out of the loop, still rocking an overclocked i5-2500k Sandy Bridge. It's done me well all these years but it's starting to show it's age along with the motherboard. I have a good case that a bought more recently and don't need a new GPU.
After a new motherboard and CPU... probably need new RAM too. Not looking to go overkill on price but would like everything to be future proof. Don't have a preference for AMD/Intel, although I did read about the security flaw with chips recently... not sure how that affects things.
Also I don't know how well the CPU's can be overclocked these days but if possible a motherboard that is easy/popular for overclocking would be nice. My current MSI motherboard was a pain to overclock with. Any recommendations much appreciated. Thanks.
