Upgrade help please

Hi all

Looking to upgrade my old comp/new build with some recycled parts, I'm looking at spending upto £750.

I already have a monitor(1680x1050), mouse and keyboard. I also do not need cd drive, hdd and a psu( I have a corsair hx620 if this is still any good.) xfx6770 but this prob needs an upgrade?

I will need an os and would love an ssd. I will be mainly using this comp for playing SW:TOR any help would be greatly appreciated.

Slightly over however.

OEM 2500K CPU is £10 less you dont need the stock heatsink. That mobo can dual card, if your not bothered go back to your original choice.

A 2GB card is wise. The ati 6950 is better for gaming than the 560ti. They were £199 and have now shot up to £220ish, so i added the 560ti :( Note the 7870 is due next month, might be worth holding on and seeing how it performs for what price.

If you dont want to wait, simply using the OEM CPU gives you £10 to move into the GPU budget for the 6950
 
Slightly over is just fine( trying to avoid being stabbed by the wife) I could prob push to £800 if needed.
Few things there to think about. Would It be worth waiting for the new cards?

There are some good deals on at the mo to take advantage of so.....

I left out the GPU, you can reuse the 6670 and still get the lucid virtu features from the mobo. There's £200 left to pic a card out over the next month or so once the rig is up and going. (most likely will be an ati card and will then be a straight swap no faffing with drivers).

I use that Zalman Z9 case. Is excellent value for the money, 4 fans (3 lit blue), a digital temp display and a fan controller. Oh and 4 USB ports but they are USB 2.0

I added the 128GB SSD not only because it is bigger but the 64GB M4 has a slower write speed than it's bigger bro.

Awesome thanks for the advice. I do like the look of that second build and no harm in waiting. Never built a comp b4 so it will be a learning curve.

No worries. Granted the offers on the parts arent massive savings but every lil helps right?

There is an excellent guide to building on here and you can find walkthrough videos on youtube. Of course as I said before if you have any questions or problems we will do our best to help you out :)
