Hey guys,

Thinking of upgrading my current build for gaming (sig below) with the aim of running 2x MSI
N560 Ti Hawks and some extras.

Here is what i was currently looking at:
Asus Sabertooth 990FX
Coolermaster V8 Cpu cooler
and of course the 2nd MSI Hawk

looking for you guys to suggest a better plan :)

Oh and by the way why is it people suggest that the top priority is an SSD if you don't have one? I'm currently using my PC For gaming not data transfer and most games load pretty quickly. Also they are damn expensive. ;) I'd rather wait the extra 3-4 seconds loading than fork out £100 on an SSD :)

SSDs is like oil. Makes everything goes smoother. You don't have to if you don't want to and prefer to spend on the graphics card and CPU. There comes a point where you will gain less by upgrading a CPU and GPU, this is a good time to put a SSD in the budget.

Do you have the 560ti's? Else I strongly suggest you just go single GPU, like a 670.

And also, get a 3570K, don't buy into 'more core = more speed' from AMD.

The CM V8 is noisy.

I think you are going for style over substance here. Get good components instead.

Budget?

Ok, from what I have seen there are multiple people who think the same, feel free to suggest me a decent but not too pricey SSD :)

then drop the SSD from the equation, with that budget, you'll be better of spending on a CPU and GPU. A SSD (128GB M4 / 830) is almost the difference between a 7850 and a 670, which would the be GPU I would be looking at.

The problem with the 560ti Hawk is that they are only 1GB vram.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £173.99
1 x Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard with FREE BOOGIE BUG XXL GAMING MOUSE MAT £129.98
1 x Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CML8GX3M2A1600C9) £44.99
1 x Alpenföhn Matterhorn Pure Edition CPU Cooler (Socket LGA2011/1366/1155/1156/775/ AMD AM3/AM3+/AM2/AM2+/FM1) £26.99
Total : £387.35 (includes shipping : £9.50).

Or a Gigabyte Z77X-D3H if you don't want to spend so much on the motherboard.

I would get that, and stick with a 560ti for a while. Then sell it (£100) and get a 670. Is it struggling at the moment?

560 ti works great atm, got it at 1000mhz core clock thanks for the suggestions

If it's fine, then I'd stick with it. IMO there's little benefit for SLI on 1080p (I've been there with two 6950's), but a bit more VRAM might help in the future, although 1GB seems enough at the moment. SLI 1GB cards would be, imo, a waste of money.

Just looked at some benchmarks for both cpus Amd scored 4200 and intel scored 7749 huge difference between cpus, both have 4 cores and same Ghz thanks for recommending this will be ordering this soon :)

The only thing Im uncertain with your build is the cpu cooler. It has no reviews and I've never actually heard of the make.

I've just been looking at some pages about the top cpu coolers. 2 Coolers have caught my eye, the Noctua NH-D14 Dual Radiator and Fan Socket and the Spire Thermax Eclipse II.

Any thoughts?
