I currently have a Palit GTX680 4 GB jetstream which has been serving me very well. I have been gaming at 1920x1080, but, I have just invested in a 27" 2560 x 1440 monitor which will be delivered next week.

Will my current card be able to cope with the higher resolution at ultra settings on the most common games (CPU is an i7 2700K @4ghz)?

If it's likely to struggle what are my upgrade options?

My current card is now EOL so it will be hard to find another one to sli. Will a GTX 770 4GB be able to be linked with a GTX680?

Should I just sell the current card S/H and invest in another card. What could I expect to recoup?

I have a budget of £300 to spend so would like any pointers please.

thanks in advance for any advice given. :D

Firstly congrats on the new monitor :)

As you say your card is EOL so options been:

1) Keep your card (cant seem to find any benchmarks easily)

http://www.dayonepatch.com/index.php?/topic/85169-1440p-benchmarks-to-sli-or-not/

seems to indicate some games will be playable some nto so much.

2) Find a second hand 680 4gig

3) Get a 770 4gig, I have seen some people flashing 680s with 770bios, but I am not saying you should.

4) Sell your 680 and look at buying a gtx 780 or ati290

In terms of sale value I really am not entirely sure....A wild stab in the dark I guess is around £150-£200?

Some nice options above, id suggest either:

- Finding another 680 4GB secondhand for SLI

or

- Selling up and getting a 780.

The first one would be better and cheaper but you may run into more problems, like warranty and sli bugs (these are less common now)

OK thanks for your help.

If I invest in a 780TI which one would you recommend? I'm currently SFF with a micro ATX Lianli case so would need one with good cooling. Will it still allow me to run the likes of Breaking point, BF4 and the AAA titles currently on the horizon on ultra settings?
