Upgrade Help?

Hi!

Major components of my PC include: SLI GTX 680's, 12GB Corsair Vengeance (Had to take one stick out due to it causing BSOD's), and an i7 3770k OC'd at 4.5GHZ. I just came back to gaming after about 2-3 years of leaving my PC kinda dormant, and realized it's not what it used to be as the new games are coming out. I was thinking of, within the next month, upgrading my GPU and throwing in some new/more RAM, but was wondering if my i7 3770k @4.5 is still good enough. Will it bottleneck a GPU upgrade to say a 1080?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I have the funds for even a 1080 TI. I may have the funds for an upgraded CPU as well but I'd just rather not gut my PC

If that's 1080p then 1070gtx should do fine - 1080x for a bit more longevity . If it's 1440p then 1080gtx or Ti at the top of the scale

Thank you! I think I'm gonna go with the 1080- just wanted to make sure my 3770k can still hold up

I have a few friends that have the card and they absolutely love it- can't wait. If you had to take a guess, do you think the GPU is what's holding my PC back from performing on the newer games? I've been so far away from the scene for years because of school and have no idea what is obsolete anymore
