Upgrade Help.

Hi, I’m from New Zealand,

In Late 2016, I purchased a Prebuilt Gaming PC (Yes I made a bad decision but now I can build one)

It was $1000USD ($1500NZD)

Specs:

GPU: GTX 1060 3GB Dual Fan OC
CPU: i5-7400 Kaby Lake
RAM: 8GB DDR4
PSU: 500W
1TB HDD and 250GB SSD
Be Silent 600 Chasis Case.

Right now, I’m wiling to upgrade my specs to around a GTX 1080 level, what would be my best bet to upgrade? What CPU would I have to upgrade to? What high end GPU is the best value for money currently?

Also any other considerations, appreciate the help, thank you very much.

Buy a GTX 1080/1070ti then? It really is that simple.

You could have a look at the RTX 2070, depending on prices it may be around the same price, possibly even cheaper than a 1080 with a ~10% performance gain.

If the prices look a bit steep to you then you could go for a 1070ti or a Vega 64 which perform about the same.

What monitor do you have and are you planning on upgrading it?
