He is just going to use onboard sound and gfx until he can afford to upgrade. He is worried that it states the mobo will take 2 x 1.8V DDR2 DIMM, yet the ram runs at 2.1V

Basically wants it as cheap and cheerful as possible, but still be able to last a fair while. Will only be used mainly for browsing, watching movies and the odd game. £160 is about as much as he can spend on these components.

He will definately need a graphics card to play any more modern games but otherwise should do him well ....... what psu is he using ?

Stuff salvaged from other system is Hiper 530, Audigy 2, some random dvd drive and He might just keep the 7300gs.

Would the onboard gfx be ok for emulators, football manager games and PS1-ps2 emulating?

My missus has the same m/b with no graphics card and it seems to do well .......... if you go on gigabytes website they will tell you how well it does on graphics my guess would be its ok but you would need to look further into it really to be sure ............ is that 7300gs a pcie card? ....................... aaaaaah 200 posts :)

edit and that psu should be fine theres nothing in your spec thats going to overly tax it :)
