Hello,

May I ask for some advice.

I am considering upgading processor/mobo/memory. I was looking at the AMD bundle https://www.overclockers.co.uk/amd-...ce-pro-rgb-32gb-3600mhz-bundle-bu-021-am.html But prefer to purchase seperately so to get processor retail (still same price).

What is the advice on those. Is it a good choice? Would it be better to purchase different mobo/memory?
Is the cooler with the retail processor OK?

If changes are advised, I could increase spending to approx £1200 (please note. I have never been lucky with Asus, so prefer to avoid).

Regards,
Steve

Depends on your intended use of said bundle. If its for Gaming only then there are better value options available. Best price/performance Gaming Bundle would be MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX/3700x/3600MHZ DDR4 Ram.

32GB Ram is overkill right now for Gaming. RGB Ram is a matter of personal choice, Corsair is good but expensive.

Gaming & Streaming at the same time or for CPU intensive tasks, a 3900X would make sense.

Hi Grimley,

Sorry, I should have mentioned usage.

I am not a big gamer. The main use of the PC is modeling/texturing/animations/rendering.
So the processor/memory is mainly to allow me to bake larger maps (on larger meshes) and for larger physics sims. Rendering is currently GPU (via 2x GTX1080).
Current power supply is: "Seasonic Prime Gold 1000w 80 Plus Gold Modular" (2 yrs old)
