Upgrade/new system?

Hi!

Almost 5 years ago I bought the following from here:

Palit GeForce GTX 460 768MB GDDR5
AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition 125W 3.2GHz (AM3)
Asus M4A87TD Evo AMD 870 (Socket AM3) DDR3
Corsair XMS3 4GB 2X2 DDR3 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
Sapphire Pure 625W Modular Power Supply
Samsung SATA 1TB drive
Coolermaster Elite 430 Case

Now I'm looking for an upgrade (possibly new build ideas) to mostly play games (would like high settings/60fps?), but also for mobile app development so I guess I could use a little bit more RAM for emulation.

I need advice whether I should upgrade my current system or build a new one. In terms of budget I'm thinking up to £400 if upgrading, will probably be around £500-£600 should I decide to buy a new build. If I decide to upgrade, I'd probably like to do it over time, not at once so maybe buying a graphics card first instead of mobo/cpu combo? Any suggestions?

Thats actually quite clever.

All I can also add is that the R9 285 (£139) or R9 280 (£149) is worth the extra as its a stronger card.

Reviving thread as I can now upgrade my PC. Was thinking of:

**B Grade** MSI Z97 Gaming 3 Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX (MB-262-MS)
Intel Core i5-4690K 3.50GHz (Devil's Canyon) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail
* or the above bundle
Kingston HyperX Fury Red 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-14900C10 1866MHz Dual Channel Kit

Then I'd hold off till the new AMD graphics cards are released/announced (?) in a couple of weeks time, as I've heard that may drop prices for some GPUs. To be honest, now I am thinking of getting GTX 970. Do you think my PSU can support it with the above parts?

Thanks
