Upgrade now or wait for a 5k build

I went for the xtx.

It was a game based decision for me. I looked at reviews and concluded for single player story type games where ray tracing and special effects are key then Nvidia was the way to go but for more online fast paced multiplayer type games then the grunt of the xtx offered the best performance per £

5k is a crazy budget considering you dont even need a monitor! Would have thought you could get a top end PC built and a crazy top end monitor as well for that price.

one mans crazy is an other mans pocket change. and this is why a 5090 will cost £2100

I meant that even if you go for the top of the top component for every part that you will struggle to spend that much, unless you're talking about threadripper

hahaha no you wont... you can do £1200 on CPU and mobo, £2200 of a 4090. £600 on 256GB ram, SSD's, case, water cooling you can do 8k on a box easy

What normal desktop cpu costs 1200?

Saying that I didn’t think about overloading the RAM and storage so I suppose you can!

I said cpu and motherboard, my partners friends son only buys flagship boards. He’s just paid £550 for an intel board. And a 285k will cost him £600

He’s autistic and can’t be told a budget board and x3d chip is better…. It’s been drilled into him intel is better…

Gone with the 9800x3d and 7900xtx in the end.Total build was just over 3k including build costs.It's all subjective at the end of the day.I'll post the specs tomorrow but I'm happy with it and ultimately isn't that the point of anybody system ??

Even as someone who is used to prebuilt pricing, that makes me feel sad. Over £500 for build? I personally would've opened a ticket to see what they could do for something like this.

New GPU are out soon so tbh I'd use a cheap one for now no point spending £1000 when it's about a month away.

@BarneyBoots it unfortunate really you didn't run it past us , although I do like the MSI carbon board there are better boards for simmlar money.

nv5 is a sexy case, and i do love the D30 fans too.
i sold mine and for lian li's and i regret it so much, i love the blue and purple color wave it looks amazing
